Pocket Pet Grooming

Grooming isn't just for dogs anymore, and many pet owners are begining to understand the healthy benefits to brining in their pocket pets for grooming too.

Here at Dragonfly Boarding we use waterless shampoo, odor control conditioners and food grade dust to give your pocket pet's coat a shine and smell sweet.

"We are there for all our clients, and that includes your pocket Pet"

We are the only place in Alaska that grooms small rodents.

Pocket Pet owners realize the most difficult part of caring for their small pets is trimming their nails, Hamsters, rats, and hedgehogs have very small feet.

We recommend pet owners get their animals groomed at least once a month to protect them from parasites. We love Pocket Pets and want to keep them healthy and happy, we know how to handle them because that's what we do.

Most pocket pets are generally very clean and tidy animals by nature and they spend a lot of their time cleaning and grooming themselves and each other, however from time to time even our little fuzzy friends need help with their grooming to help keep them healthy and happy especially if you own a long hair hamster, a hedgehog or a ferret. Occasionally, long haired hamsters may need a good brushing and trim, if lots of bedding gets stuck in their fur or it starts to get tangled.

Pocket pets actually enjoy being brushed!

Pocket pets can grow to love being groomed as part of a routine and it can give your groomer the opportunity to check the health of your pet, regular grooming will allow our groomers to spot any changes in your fuzzy pet’s health it will also socialize your friend to being around humans, if we do notice any signs of ill health we can alert you so you can take your friend in to your veterinarian for a checkup as soon as possible.

If your fuzzy baby looks a bit grubby, or you find that your friend smells extra musty these days, why not bring them in for a quick grooming, a sprizty odor control conditioner may be all that is needed, we are experts in getting those tiny claws trimmed down to size, and a good eye & ear check and cleaning is not a bad idea either.

These small fuzzy friends can get external parasites including fleas, ticks, ringworms and mites, these pests cause discomfort and may lead to serious illness. We offer parasite control to keep your small friend pest free.

After a good cleaning we offer a relaxing dust bath which is essential for your fuzzy baby's cleanliness and for healthy skin. We only use dust-free soft food grade dusting baths which is a higher quality and has effective absorbent materials which prevents excess sebum. Dust Bathing is also an important

anti-stress measure to keep your rodent in a well-balanced frame of mind.
