Dog-Friendly Manners
Dog-friendly manners will make your dog fun to be around, owning a well-mannered, secure dog has many benefits. For one, it increases the
bond between dog and human. It also helps you understand your dog and helps him understand you. It sets up boundaries for your dog and helps to avoid misunderstandings, such as the belief that it's OK to eat the couch. It actually helps prevent behavior problems such as excessive barking
and jumping. Teaching them basic manners will make a world of difference and provide a great opportunity for bonding, but dog-friendly manners
has other, less obvious, benefits. Basic training in good manners helps you and your dog get along better, it gives them a mental workout
something that many canines need just as much as physical exercise to stave off boredom and helps them feel useful.
All dogs should be trained with some level of basic manners not only does manners training create a well-behaved dog, it opens up opportunities
for you and dog to share. There are many different types of training, the manners we teach here are very basic but this training might just keep you and your pooch out of the therapist's office. We want each of our dogs to associate good things with performing good manners.
Dog-friendly manners training class sessions are six-weeks in length, and we only use positive reinforcement training methods for your dog, all
training sessions are short and fun, 30 minutes per day for pups and 60 minutes for adult dogs.
Our dog-friendly training Classes are open to all dogs any size and start at 4 months old.
Dog-friendly training classes focus on basic manners using positive reinforcement, our focus is on manners such as sit, down, stay
(sit and down), "come", wait at the door, off, and "leave-it". We utilize treats, praise and fun to help dogs learn in the fastest and most positive way
possible with mild corrections, and 30 minute classes per day your pup should be proficient at basic manners within six weeks.
Class sizes are small and we utilize indoor and outdoor dog training arenas.
Our fun puppy classes socialize and use age appropriate positive-einforcement training techniques to ensure a confident, nicely
mannered puppy.
We teach your puppy sit, down, stay, and come. Puppy classes are for most breeds and any size.

We always use positive reinforcement dog-friendly training, no punishments are ever use, a 15 minute time-out for negative behavior such as
cranky or out of control manner, un-friendly growling or snapping and biting is only used because we understand just like us humans even your
dog can have an off-day, time-out is used to allow the dog to have some alone time and take a quick nap.
We use treats, verbal praise and affection to encourage desired behaviors in each dog, and gradually back off the treats and use them only
intermittently once your dog has learned a new manner, treats will no longer be necessary. Every dog is always rewarded with verbal praise
whenever they use the proper manners.
Reward-based training helps create a range of desirable behaviors in pets, which builds mutual feelings of trust and confidence.
Training Class Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday 1:00pm - 3:30pm
All dogs will be taken care of understanding each dog's personalities and habits. Dragonfly Exotic Boarding provides large, spacious indoor
training areas for dogs.
Holiday Hours
We are closed every SATURDAY and Major Holidays, there are no tours on Saturday or Holidays.
ALL PETS MUST ARRIVE IN A CARRIER THAT YOU WILL LEAVE WITH US
ALL LARGE DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH WHEN THEY ENTER AND LEAVE OUR FACILITY

and bathing services through our grooming salon and can schedule an appointment for you before your pet’s departure.
Medical Requirements
Vaccinations: All dogs must have current Bordetella, DHLPP, Rabies vaccines no less than 10 days or more than three years from the date of check
in. We require puppies to have completed a series of three vaccines before boarding. Adult dogs should be vaccinated at one year of age and thereafter every three years. Please provide proof of vaccine, which may be e-mailed to: dragonflyboarding@gmail.com.
Elderly dogs with adequate vaccine history may be boarded with a letter from their veterinarian excusing any additional vaccines.
The essential vaccinations for your pet are as follows:
• All dogs must be neutered/spayed
• Current on vaccines: Bordetella, DHLPP, Rabies
• All dogs must be on a flea preventative program
=> A copy of your dog's vaccine records from your Veterinarian including up-to-date Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DHLPP), and Bordetella
=> Your dog must be spayed or neutered if over six months of age.
=> Your dog must be in general good health and free of any illnesses or communicative diseases within the past three months.
=> If you recently adopted your dog from a shelter you must have had him/her living in your home in good health for one
month before bringing them into our ranch or provide a good health certificate from your Veterinarian.
=> We highly recommend your dog be on a monthly flea, tick, and parasite preventive.
=> Dogs with unwanted additional friends will be treated and fees charged to the owner.
Additionally, we require that you maintain a year-round treatment for ticks and fleas in order to protect our training arenas from any contamination and thus protect all of the pets. We recommendtopical solutions such as Advantage and Frontline. These products are available over the counter or from your veterinarian. We do not suggest
collar prevention methods. Please talk to your veterinarian about your options and frequency of treatment. Pets with unwanted additional pests
will be treated and fees charged to the owner.
Because the ranch is our home, we do ask that you adhere to our business hours and respect our privacy. We appreciate and require our time off also.
