Dragonfly Exotic Pet Boarding welcomes you to our Terrarium & Vivariums Cottage. Reptiles bring a touch of exotic into our
homes. With such a massive range of equipment now available, it is easy to replicate the natural environments these
wonderfully diverse animals have evolved in.
Steamy, humid tropical rainforests, parched, arid deserts or scrub and grasslands, we will custom create each terrarium and
vivarium home that will keep your beloved pet happy and healthy for his or her stay with us, no newspaper cages here.
Constant availability of fresh filtered water, crickets, horn worms, silk worms, grasshoppers, wax worms, butter worms,
daphnia, bloodworms, tubifex worms, mosquito larva and phoenix worms. Fruit and vegetables are thoroughly washed before feeding, the majority of which are grown in our garden, water dishes and waterfalls are cleaned regularly. Each terrarium and
vivarium is cleaned and disinfected between each friends stay.
High priority is given to stimulation, foraging and general well-being of your pet while in our care.
We welcome owners to view and inspect the premises before boarding their pet(s).
We offer appropriate Terrarium and Vivariums, however they are limited. There is also a shuttle pick-up service should you
require the convenience.
Here at Dragonfly Exotic Boarding we take the responsibility of caring for your reptile friend very seriously.
We will make sure to get your reptile any specialized or emergency care if they may need it. You can relax knowing there will
be attentive eyes on your pet throughout their stay.
Please place boarding request as far in advance as possible due to limited space.
Reservations are required for all our boarders Dragonfly Exotic Boarding facility is very popular. If you must cancel your
reservation, please do so at least 48 hours prior to the drop-off date (Terrariums, Vivariums, Aquariums & Rodent
Cages are created the night before scheduled drop-ins)
Non-venomous Pet Snakes: Rat, King, Corn, Milk, Boa and Python which feed principally
on small, warm blooded animals such as rodents and birds we provide these vivarium
conditions:
-
one substantial meal a week of a defrosted dead mouse or rat, quail or chick
-
an appropriate day time temperature falling at night, usually within a range of 77-86F to a minimum 75F
-

a hiding place such as a hollow log

a climbing bfacility for arboreal species such as the Tree Boa

a large water bowl in which the snake can soak itself particularly when shedding its old skin
Non-venomous Pet Snakes: Ribbon and Garter which fish are their mainstay we provide
these vivarium conditions:

small whole fish are fed 2 or 3 times a week, although some will accept earthworms and baby mice (pinkies)
-
when fish is fed as an exclusive or main diet it is immersed in hot water to destroy any harmful enzyme
-
UVB lighting so that vitamin D3 can be synthesized, essential for good health
-
an appropriate day time temperature falling at night, usually within a range of 77-86F to a minimum of 70F

Pet Geckos: Leopard, Day, Fat-tailed and Tokay we provide these terrarium conditions:

worm dusted with a calcium/vitamin D supplement

an appropriate day time temperature falling at night, usually within a range of 95F to a minimum of 80F

substrate varies calcium carbonate sand for a Leopard Gecko, granulated bark for a Day Gecko and Peat for a Fat-tailed Gecko

Pet Water Turtles: African, Asian, Australian, European, North American and South

20% water change and tank clean once a week as needed

Medical Requirements
Vaccinations:
Reptiles
• Yearly exam
• One-time fecal exam, then as required based on medical history*
Snakes/Lizards/turtles: In order for your snake, turtle or lizard to board with us, we require a licensed veterinarian
exam within the last year with a clean bill of health, a fecal test with no parasites seen is also required, your snake,
lizard, turtle can have no changes in health since the last examination.
Amphibians
• Yearly exam

Toads/Water Lizards/Frogs: In order for your toad, water lizard, frog to board with us, we require a licensed
veterinarian exam within the last year with a clean bill of health, a fecal test with no parasites seen is also required,
your toad, water lizard, frog can have no changes in health since the last examination.
Medication Policies
Medications will be provided by the pet owner in the original container, appropriately labeled with the veterinary
information and directions. Dosages will not be changed from the veterinary instructions without written approval
from the prescribing veterinary doctor/veterinary office.
There is a $2.50 administration fee for all medications prescribed by a veterinary doctor this fee is per administration.
The exception to this fee are vitamins and supplements that can be mixed in the food.

reservation - we will do everything in our power to make sure your pet is taken care of and provided for.
